About Or Yehuda
Or Yehuda is a city in Israel located in the center of the Dan region (Gush Dan) and is located in the area known as Ono Valley.
The city was founded in 1949, is about seven kilometers away from Ben Gurion Airport. Or Yehuda spans over approximately 1,600 acres and has about 37,000 residents, split almost equally between males and females.
Over the past few years, Or Yehuda has blossomed. From a small town in Gush Dan that is hardly talked about, it has become a real estate powerhouse. A recent survey by Channel 13 News, has ranked the city in second place for real estate attractiveness.
Or Yehuda has a lot of old low-rise apartment buildings throughout the city. However, a lot of these buildings are going to be torn down and replaced by high-rise modern buildings. This is part of the rejuvenation process the city is undergoing. Or Yehuda has set a goal to invest in its schools and education system, beautify public spaces, and invest in infrastructure.
New Neighbourhoods
The neighbourhoods of Neve Savyon and Neve Rabin are the newer parts of the city with attractive high-rise buildings in them. However, these days a new massive neighbourhood is being built in the north part of the city: Home in The Park (בית בפארק), with some 3,000 apartments, office and retail spaces. While most of the apartments there were built under the government's reduced housing price initiative, there was a healthy demand for the free market priced units. Below is a rendering of the proposed neighbourhood.
Park Ayalon (פארק איילון) neighbourhood is another new neighbourhood that will be built in the south-west part of the city and will include about 2400 apartments, as well as office and retail space. Below is a rendering of the proposed neighbourhood.
Public Transportation
Oy Yehuda has a lot of bus routes go though the city, and one can use public transportation to get to near or far away cities.
Or Yehuda will stand to benefit from the light-rail that will pass along the north part of the city as can be seen in the purple line in the image below. This rail line will make traveling to Tel Aviv and other parts of Gush Dan easier.
At the same time, an expansive green park is currently being built, covering 148 acres. The park will be the second largest in Gush Dan after the Yarkon Park and will be a recreation, activity and cultural center for residents from home and abroad.
So, can you call Or Yehuda home?
Or Yehuda has a lot of advantages. The city is small enough that one can get from here to there in no time. Or Yehuda is centrally located and allows for easy access to other areas in Israel.
All the basics that one needs to live comfortably are available: Office space, supermarkets, stores, strip malls, government services and an improving educational system.
As the city undergoes revitalization, and new neighbourhoods will be constructed, there will be more apartments to choose from.
If you are thinking of moving to Israel, making aliyah, consider making Or Yehuda your home.

Additional Developments
In addition to the residential real estate that Or Yehuda aims to develop, the city is also pursing a massive business park, O Park. This unique business park will be divided into specific areas: high-tech, bio-tech, light industry, hotel and conference, restaurants and entertainment, cinema and more.
